Jason Masters
Jason Masters is a Captain with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service where he is currently assigned to one of the county’s Special Operations - Technical Rescue stations. Additionally, Jason currently serves as an Assistant Rescue Manager for the FEMA Urban Search & Rescue Team, Maryland Task Force 1. Jason is a certified lead instructor with the State of Maryland and is qualified to teach all of the Technical Rescue disciplines as well as a certified lead instructor for the FEMA Structural Collapse Technician course. Jason is a knowledgeable, well rounded instructor who strives to always provide a positive learning environment Jason Masters has been with MATR since its inception and was one of the catalysts for its creation. His passion for technical rescue is unparalleled and is evident in his accomplishments and professional standing. In his early fire service career, he was a volunteer firefighter with the Howard County, Maryland Fire and Rescue Department. After a few years in this capacity, he was hired as a full-time career firefighter with the Montgomery County, Maryland Fire and Rescue Department. He worked his way through the ranks, including spending several years on Rescue 3 in the county seat of Rockville. He currently holds the rank of Captain, is approaching the 20 year mark, and is assigned to Fire Station 25 which is one of three Special Operations/Technical Rescue stations. Jason is the Team Leader of the Technical Rescue Team , and is also the Rescue Manager for Maryland Task Force 1, a FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Team. In addition to MATR, Jason has also taught for the Montgomery County Fire/Rescue Training Academy, the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute, and he is currently a lead instructor for the FEMA Structural Collapse Technician program. Finally, Jason is an assistant instructor for Ropes That Rescue, a Sedona, Arizona based technical rope rescue school that teaches intermediate and advanced level rope rescue programs internationally. MATR is proud to have Jason on board, and thanks him immensely for his vision in helping to establish this ever expanding entity. |
